Scholarships can cover part or all of a student-athlete’s tuition, depending on both academic and athletic merit. With over 2,000 colleges and universities across the U.S. offering soccer scholarships to top talent, the opportunities are vast — but the recruitment and application process can be complex and highly competitive.
At Varsity Nine, we specialise in securing the best possible scholarship for you, providing end-to-end support from your first application to graduation and beyond.

To be eligible to enrol at an American university there are academic requirements you need to meet. Usually, student-athletes will need a minimum of a 2.0 GPA, which must include GCSE English, Maths and Science - grade 4-9.
The higher your GPA, the more scholarship opportunities will be available to you. Please note that each institution has its own GPA requirement, therefore a 2.0 GPA minimum is not a guaranteed admission to the institution of your choice.

The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) is the largest college sports organisation in the U.S., divided into three divisions, with Division I schools typically having the biggest athletic programmes, and often the most elite level of play. The NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) is smaller, with fewer member schools, often appealing to student-athletes seeking a balanced academic-athletic experience. The NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) governs two-year colleges, serving as a stepping stone for athletes aiming to transfer to four-year programmes.
